Clara Tan
Clara is dual qualified - both as a Solicitor in England & Wales and as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore. She started her legal career at a leading litigation law firm in Singapore, then spent six years in private practice in London before returning to Singapore.
Clara acts for a wide range of clients in the offshore, shipping and trade industries. Her offshore practice includes negotiating, drafting and review of contracts for contractors, operators and shipyards. Her shipping practice encompasses advising shipowners, charterers, their clubs, banks and shipyards in relation to charterparties, bills of lading, sale and purchase, ship construction/ conversion, marine casualties, arrests, obtaining security and enforcement actions. She also acts for traders covering a wide range of commodities including oil, coal, LPG and LNG.
Clara regularly represents clients in arbitrations (e.g. ICC, LCIA, LMAA, SIAC, SCMA, KLRCA), litigation and mediations internationally. Being Singapore-qualified, Clara can represent clients in the Singapore courts.
