Mads Magnussen

Mads Magnussen is partner and head of Wikborg Rein's Trade, Industry and Public Sector group. He advices Norwegian and foreign businesses within many different sectors, and also regularly acts as advisor to public authorities and publicly owned companies.

Magnussen's principle area of expertise is competition law, and he is also head of Wikborg Rein's competition law practice group. Magnussen is former Legal Director of the Norwegian Competition Authority and has considerable experience in handling large, complex competition cases. He handles on a regular basis cases before Norwegian and international competition authorities and courts. Magnussen has strong experience from conducting corporate investigations, implementing competition compliance programs, establishing different forms of cooperation agreements, reviewing the competition law compliance of various types of business conduct, and dealing with competition law issues related to mergers, acquisitions and other types of concentrations.

Magnussen has previously worked as Référendaire at the EFTA Court in Luxembourg, and in Wikborg Rein, Magnussen also handles cases within the field of general EU/EEA law and state aid.

Magnussen graduated Candidate of Jurisprudence from the University of Oslo and holds in addition a masters degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Magnussen was in 2009 recommended by Chambers and Partners as "Leaders in their field" in the category Competition/Antitrust.
