Maritime law and marine insurance are historically strong areas for Wikborg Rein. It has established itself as a leading maritime law firm and enjoys good relations with maritime insurers. Counselling and assistance within these fields are also the basis for the firm's offices in Kobe, Singapore, London, and Bergen.

We advise and assist in all fields within the maritime industries assisting Norwegian and foreign shipowners, insurers, brokers, shipyards etc.

The firm has an extensive marine insurance practice. Many of the partners participate in preparing marine insurance conditions, such as the Norwegian Marine Insurance Plan (Version 1996) and P&I conditions. In addition, some of the firm's lawyers are authors or co-authors of specialist literature and standard forms within maritime law.

  Wikborg Rein seeks maritime trainees
  Every semester Wikbrg Rein reserves 2-3 trainee positions for law students with an interest in maritime law. The main purpose of the trainee positions is to give students an insight into how we work, but it also lets us evaluate potential candidates for future positions with the firm. As a lawyer in our maritime law department, you may have the opportunity to work at one of our overseas offices in London, Singapore, Shanghai or Kobe.
